Mediterranean Odyssey

A Mediterranean cruise which hits a few historical highlights with a couple of days in Rome beforehand.
WHAT I BOOKED FOR THEM...
I booked my clients an 11-night Mediterranean Odyssey, as I like to call it. An Odyssey because it was a jam-packed itinerary for this active multigenerational family. It was important for the mother to show her teenage daughters many of the historical and cultural sights in Europe they were studying in high school: The Colosseum in Rome, the Acropolis in Athens, Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii as well as the birthplace of the Renaissance – Florence.
I found the perfect itinerary for them, a mix of culture and history with a few beach days in the Greek Isles to entice the girls.

We are no strangers to international travel. Having family who reside overseas we travel often. But as the girls grew older, I recognized it was time to show them the iconic landmarks and cities they were studying in their classes at school. It seemed a cruise was the easiest way to accomplish this task. Emma found us the perfect cruise! On an 11-night cruise, 9 of those days were in port. It was hectic, but we saw so much, and the girls were finally able to see for themselves what makes European history so rich and captivating. She found a wonderful hotel in Rome with a huge family suite we could all stay in together and booked us a couple of private tours in places we had specific things we wanted to see – like Florence. If you are planning a cruise which stops in Livorno, I absolutely recommend a private guide. You get to see – and learn- so much more when it is a small group. Our guide was fantastic, and because she is a licensed guide, we walked straight into the Galleria dell’Accademia, and right up to the statue of David. She shared the entire history of the statue and it was truly one of the highlights of the trip. Emma also surprised us with a private photo shoot outside the Vatican at sunset. It was unbelievable to have such amazing photographs without hundreds of people cluttering up the pictures! We are very much looking forward to working with Emma again for a Northern European cruise we intend to take in the next couple of years.

Paris & Rome
WHAT THE CLIENT ASKED FOR...
A 20th anniversary trip to Paris and Rome with a flexible itinerary hitting a few highlights in each city but also time for exploration.
WHAT I BOOKED FOR THEM...
4 nights Paris in a charming hotel in the 6th arr. with a view of the Eiffel Tower. I secured them an exclusive dinner at the Eiffel Tower with an included illuminations night tour of the city. I included a “Paris Visite” card with access to most of the essential sites and a metro card. This gave them the flexibility to choose which sites they wanted to do when, but with the comfort of knowing they were already paid for and had skip-the-line access as well.
4 nights in Rome in a lovely hotel near the Spanish steps. Their time in Rome included a semi-private tour of the Vatican as well as the city. There was just enough tours to keep them busy while allowing them the plenty of time and freedom to explore the city at their own pace.

Ireland Honeymoon
WHAT THE CLIENT ASKED FOR...
A honeymoon trip to Ireland that needed to include a castle stay, a couple of quaint bed and breakfasts and the future bride wanted to “run through a field of flowers”
WHAT I BOOKED FOR THEM...
As a young couple, the Cooks were open to adventure. They were looking for an in-depth exploration of Ireland, staying in authentic local B&B’s and the fairytale dream of sleeping in a magnificent castle. Aside from the desire to live out their royal dreams in legendary fashion, there was only one other request. A simple request and one I chose to honor in a very special way. I had secretly hired a photographer to meet them on the grounds of Ashford castle. After a quick tour of the property and a few impromptu pics, the newlywed couple was greeted by a kaleidoscope of flowers and plants within the castle’s grounds, documented via the lens of the photographer. They were completely astounded. So much so, I received an email from them directly afterwards expressing their delight!
